They kept on coming and coming until quite late in the evening. Their little tents were scattered over several campsites behind the Castle. Touring cyclists in droves made this their recovery point for the night. Not a one of them was fat at all. In the morning they were up early and rolling out before eight am. Of course they had severe winds to fight and intermittent rain to create hazardous conditions also. Hopefully they all made it safely to the next destination.
As for me it was wait for a package to be delivered. When the new to me golf club arrived right at noon it was a good sight to see. Unpacking it revealed an unmolested used lob wedge without a scratch on it. WOW. Immediately after lunch it had to be tested. It works wonderfully. It is too bad the operator is less capable than the club. Now that the testing is over the shipping box was trashed.
Now it is 2:30 and time to take a ride for pictures and a story for tonight. As the Truck was being entered the rain started. Darn. Since then it has been a steady drizzle. Several times it made me glad that TheOFM was not out on the road on his bike. YUK. So no special story tonight or pictures.
Of course the nice nap to the sound of raindrops on the roof made it a pretty good time of trying to have tooooo much fun. TheOFM
Late Evening Post
About an hour after the above post, the serious rain hit here. It has been pouring rain for nearly two hours now. Tomorrow should see some creeks running full of water. The good part is that my silly thoughts of trying a tent again are dissipated totally, again. The thought of a couple of trips to a bathroom in the cold, wet, muddy night instead of my dry warm Castle is horrifying. There is not any way that tent could lead to trying to have tooooo much fun for me. TheOFM
When I was a kid, about a million years ago, my folks allowed me the illusion of becoming a pro golfer when I grew up, they gave me money to do the local course any time I wanted. I was a young kid doing the course, by myself, stroke after stroke...a wonderful bunch of afternoons after school. I love golf. Beautifull landscapes!!!!
ReplyDeleteI did actually do OK in some local contests/championships. But I didnt like the HoopLah...all the people!? I love golf...I just dont love people?? and all their Hooplah.
I like the way you do golf...by yourself... reminds me of when I was a kid...doing golf just cus I loved it.
I hope maybe someday...to do a few holes with you...slow, easy, happy, and without scores... it is eventually the truth, that a golfer is a fool, if he concentrates on his score, and doesnt pay attention to... the beautiful landscape. "What's your score?"...who cares, look at all the beutifall landscape, would you!??
the computer might make me repeat this email ?? Glitch? repeating entry!?
Hi, I have stopped by and read your post from time to time when I got time which isnt often. I enjoy it, full of practicle ideas and easy to understand solutions.
ReplyDeleteafter seeing your comment on Field Lab post about wind generators I thought you might like to check out this site. www.mikeswindmillshop.com I owned one before and they are indestructable and put out a great charge.
It would take an act of congress to get me out of my trailer and into a cold tent!
ReplyDeleteMy comment about windmill generators in the field lab site was in reference to those that were attempted on RVs. Static placement windmills seem to do better. The Field Lab is an interesting site. www.thefieldlab.blogspot.com
